BANGLADESH DISASTER & RELIEF FUND (BDRF)

     We all know that Bangladesh gets affected by natural disasters almost every year; the profound damage and havoc it creates is unimaginable. We see this year after year and each time we feel hopeless and helpless. During the summer of 2007 a few Bangladeshi engineers in California got together and floated an idea to see what we can do for our native land during these heart-breaking events. In the initial stage a simplistic plan was adopted to raise funds locally in a coordinated way and eventually transfer the funds to the poor, needy and affected people of Bangladesh.

        We believe that a good number of Bangladeshis are living in many foreign countries and if we all get together and contribute in a unified way a big difference can be made to alleviate the sufferings of a common mass.

        We planned to have this organization as open and transparent as possible; it will be open to your comments and suggestions and every one should be able to participate in the development of the organization.

The main objectives of BDRF will be:

-Respond to the national disasters of Bangladesh

-Create awareness in foreign countries to help Bangladesh

-Raise funds locally and globally-Distribute the funds to the needy and deserving people

-Provide financial assistance to control or mitigate a disaster-Serve people in a non

-partisan way BDRF is an all voluntary organization with a common goal to do good for the poor people of Bangladesh.
